The Nebula Awards, sponsored by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association, have announced their short-list of nominated speculative fiction published in 2024. I’m focusing in this blog mainly on novels, so that’s my focus in this post. The short-listed books nominated for best novel are:
- Sleeping Worlds Have No Memory, Yaroslav Barsukov (Caezik SF & Fantasy)
- Rakesfall, Vajra Chandrasekera (Tordotcom; Solaris UK)
- Asunder, Kerstin Hall (Tordotcom)
- A Sorceress Comes to Call, T. Kingfisher (Tor; Titan UK)
- The Book of Love, Kelly Link (Random House; Ad Astra UK)
- Someone You Can Build a Nest In, John Wiswell (DAW; Arcadia UK)
All the winners will be announced on June 7, 2025, at the SFWA’s 60th Annual Awards Conference in Kansas City, Missouri (June 5-8 2025).
It’s time to read, read, read! I will review all the nominated novels in this blog.
First up: Barsukov’s Sleeping Worlds Have No Memory and Chandrasekera’s Rakesfall. I’ll be reporting back soon.
